Now more of a mystery is how on earth did these end up in my mums possession?
(Thank goodness for Wendy that I rescued them from being incinerated! Tee hee)

Blimey , I recognise my long flowing hair in the last photo . It's me , what a surprise !!! haha With Burt, Birdy , Clinchey & I think that's our Ted !!! The semi naked hungover guy is again our Ted ( I think ) Next one up is probably Sue , with the hat on , Bro Bill , Birdie & Ivan ... then me !!! Going up ... That handsome chap maybe Sue !!! haha .....Next one by the statue is Me , Bill & Sue , can't make out the other two , even through my magnifing glass haha Poor me being strangled by Clinchy & my bro Bill stands by & watches !! & finally the first one ... ReplyDeleteShe was very nervous, Lindi I mean! Had a guy called Carlos after her and she was scared to death.. we d only been there a couple of days and she wanted to fly home
We wentvia mini bus with the boys and there friends .. rented a villa in Albufeira.. your mum threw up the whole way it wasn't a great trip down
Boys were Terry and bill , birdie and Burt . Rob Deamer and Clinchy, Ivan fox ....and us three girls! Lindi got married to Ivan while we were there one drunken night with a beercan ring as a wedding ri g....
One night we went out and had afew drinks... took one of our waiters with us from the local bar ... boys were frustrated from lack of women around and after afew drinks... birdie started winding Bill up who was driving at the time .. next thing we know we re stopped and everyone is out have a punch up in a field ... then they calmly get back in the SN laughing g and we carry on!!! Jose, the editor thought we were all nuts !!!!😄

DeleteI did not realise you siblings were pretty close back then and more like friends... I do remember Birdie when I was growing up as he used to be at our family things. Didnt he have funny teeth or mouth and laughed all the time?
I did all the boys hairs one night with curling tongs.. they ended up looking like a load of drag queens !!!😄

ReplyDeleteWhen we came home, it really started my feet itching so I quit my job.. Wendy quit her Head Clerk job and we went back to Portugal intending to get work ....
ReplyDeleteStarted badly as we intended to drive.. taking a car ferry from Portsmouth to Lisbon.. therefor we e piled everything into the car... and the head gasket went on the way to the ferry!
We went anyway leaving the car at a garage for Nod to pick up later on!
Had many adventures in the Algarve then got stuck in a squat in Lisbon for a while ! It was the time of the Revolution in Portugal and lots of people were coming from Angola so there was very little accommodation available ...
We had a miscommunication with one lady after staying in her place on the floor.. we thought she d quoted us a price for 4 of us ( we had hooked up with a couple of American girls by then too) turned out to be for 1 and we didn't have the money so she locked us in and kept us prisoner in her house!
Did eventually escape with help from our friends in the Portuguese Mafia!!!

It was a very weird time
